About Carolyn.

Carolyn is an instructional designer with over seven years designing and developing curricula for public and private schools in the United States and abroad. She spent three years teaching music at International Baccalaureate schools in Italy and the Middle East, where she gained experience working effectively with teams cross-culturally. Carolyn developed programs that were interdisciplinary and involved weaving subject areas such as math, history, and science together. She was also a huge proponent of incorporating technology into the classroom.

After completing her work overseas, Carolyn decided to shift from the world of education to corporate and began working as a Business Development Representative (BDR) in the printing industry. During her time in printing, she was in charge of designing, developing, and implementing training for new BDR hires. Her initiatives cut down the training time from two months to two weeks. Employee retention and satisfaction with onboarding also increased.

In order to further her design skills, Carolyn began her Master of Science in Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies at Florida State University, the leading program for instructional design in the United States. She simultaneously completed a fellowship with a new, online educational company called Klatch. During her time at Klatch, Carolyn helped design and develop training for new facilitators of their online learning platform, as part of the Learning and Development team.

In 2022, Carolyn was selected as the first instructional design intern for Tesla's Sales, Service, and Delivery department. During her time with Tesla, she designed and developed online learning modules, and job aids, and established design protocols for the development of instructor-led training. She loved collaborating with her team and working within the world of electric vehicles and clean energy.

Following Tesla, Carolyn worked for Floor & Decor, the leading retailer for hard-surface flooring and related accessories. Her role involved working with Stakeholders across the company to design effective online learning experiences. While her role was that of an instructional designer, she also functioned as a photographer, scriptwriter, animated video designer, video editor, and graphic designer to develop highly interactive learning experiences for employees.

Carolyn currently works for Booz Allen Hamilton as a Senior Instructional Designer. She works in the immersive learning space, involving the use of Virtual Reality and 360 camera.

Carolyn's passion is to create effective and appealing training for companies. As a former musician, she thrives on creative work and is always looking for the latest and greatest ways to keep learners engaged. She ultimately seeks to find solutions to performance problems, and her ability to analyze each situation and find appropriate solutions helps companies thrive.
